Teaching Venue Video Tutorials

This article describes how to use audiovisual equipment in three main types of teaching venue. Refer to the instructions below for each venue in which you teach.

Lecture Theatres with Wide Angle HD Cameras at the rear of the room

Several large lecture theatre venues have a wide angle HD (Panasonic AVStream Camera) at the rear of the room.

There are a few simple steps you will need to follow when connecting to your chosen video teaching tool (Zoom or Teams).

This video will talk you though the options you need to select for the larger venues using a HD camera.    

If using Zoom and recording your lecture, select "Record to the Cloud".

Lecture Theatres and other classrooms with Cameras on the lectern (EagleEye Poly Cube)

These venues have an EagleEye (Poly) cube camera on the lectern.

This video will talk you though the options you need to select for the EagleEye Poly Cube  cameras.

For venues where there is a EagleEye Poly Cube lectern camera you will be able to see the camera on the lectern you will need to select "EagleEye Cube" as the microphone as demonstrated in the video below.

If using Zoom and recording your lecture select "Record to the Cloud".

These venues have webcams (with built-in microphones) located on top of the monitor which is attached to the lectern.

To use these, select ‘ON’ and ‘PC’ on the white control panel and the short video will walk you through how to select the required settings for your chosen video teaching tool (Zoom or Teams). 

Note: when selecting the camera/mic options in these venues, you should select “Asus BE/C6 webcam series” from the menu offered.

If using Zoom and recording your lecture, select "Record to the Cloud". 

Extending the screen

In Extend Mode the external display is treated as a separate screen so that you can have a different windows open on the projector and desktop.  This will enable you to use Presenter mode in Powerpoint, and see your speaker's notes.
